Abigail Schmidt
D.V.M.
Dr. Schmidt completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, and loves anything and everything Hokie. She moved overseas for vet school, graduating from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to pursue an internship in Emergency and Critical Care medicine. Originally a military brat, she claims Virginia to be “home” and was excited to return to the state after her internship. Since then, she has worked in both ER and general practice medicine. Dr. Schmidt’s special areas of interest include preventative care, emergency medicine, wound care, soft tissue surgery, and neurology.
In her free time, she enjoys being pestered for attention by her lovable goofball of a rescue golden, Bonnie, spending time with her family, being fed ridiculously good homemade meals by “the boy”, keeping active with running and kick-boxing, being equally lazy with beach days and water sports, and going on mini-adventures.
