Tara Gleysteen

Dr. Tara Gleysteen was born in Baltimore, MD, and grew up in Milford, DE. As a young child, she developed a love for all animals, the beach, and the Orioles.  

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Delaware and then attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated in 2021 and then completed a year-long emergency and specialty rotating internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA. After working in emergency medicine for a year in Wilmington, NC, she decided to relocate to Virginia to be closer to family. She enjoys all aspects of emergency medicine and especially loves to treat critical illnesses of kittens and puppies and cases of toxicities.  

Dr. Gleysteen moved to Virginia Beach with her fiancé, Evan, and their adored cavalier mix, Howie. In her free time, she loves to garden, visit family and friends, spend time at the beach, and seek out the best oysters in town. She is excited to help and get to know the pets and pet parents of Virginia Beach.
